We recruit and retain skilled and caring individuals committed to furthering our mission:

We believe healthcare is a human right. That means we are open to the entire community – the uninsured as well as those who have Medicaid, Medicare, or private insurance. We provide affordable and comprehensive primary health care, mental health, and dental services across 18 locations. Last year, we provided more than 28,000 patients with a medical home.

We invest in our employees and take pride in the challenging and rewarding environment we have to offer.  Whether you have many years of experience or are just starting your career, we invite you to learn about the many opportunities available at Heartland Health Centers!

Why join the Heartland Health Centers family?

Compensation and Benefits We offer competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits to full and part-time employees. We encourage staff feedback and career growth opportunities. Our physicians, other providers and nurses qualify for loan repayment programs under the National Health Service Corps and the Nurse Corp.

Excellence in Patient Care Our board certified physicians and dedicated healthcare professionals give personalized and holistic care that empowers the patient to be involved in their own care. We achieve this with distinctive and innovative programs – whether integrating behavioral health into our care continuum, becoming a leader in immigrant and refugee health care, or partnering with some of the most widely known hospitals and mental health centers in Chicago.

This all translates to quality. Among other honors and recognitions, Heartland Health Centers has achieved Joint Commission Accreditation for Ambulatory Care, as well as certification as a Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH) and is recognized as a PCMH by the Health Resources and Services Administration. We’ve also been recognized by the American Medical Association with a Joy in Medicine award for innovation.

Train to be a Medical Assistant with Heartland Health Centers

We are partnering with the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA) to train medical assistants. The 29-week program requires a commitment of approximately 32 to 36 hours/week. The current cost of the program is $6,785. Learn more.
