Health Education is one way we help you achieve good health. We offer workshops, wellness activities, and information to assist you with managing your own health.

Individual Health Education

AmeriCorps health educators from National Health Corps-Chicago provide individual health education in English and Spanish at our community and school health centers. They can help you learn about healthy lifestyle choices and make action plans to meet your goals. Ask your provider for a referral if you would like to meet with a health educator or call your health center to make an appointment.

Cooking Matters

We offer Share our Strength’s Cooking Matters program in partnership with EverThrive Illinois. This six-week program teaches participants to prepare and shop for healthy, budget-friendly meals. READ MORE

Freedom from Smoking

Learn how to overcome your tobacco addiction…so you can start enjoying the benefits of better health. We offer the American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking program, rated the most effective program at helping participants quit smoking. Through this eight-week program, we guide participants in overcoming the physical, mental, and social aspects of nicotine addiction. READ MORE

Anxiety and Stress Management

Our behavioral health consultants offer group sessions where participants can learn techniques for managing their stress and anxiety. All sessions are open to new patients.

Current dates: Fridays 12-1 pm at 1300 W. Devon

Walking Club

Our weekly walking group meets at the Devon Health Center for a 40 minute walk around the Loyola University campus and discussion of health and wellness topics.

Dates: Tuesdays 12-1 pm, starting April 4 and ongoing as weather permits, 1300 W. Devon


We are partnering with yoga instructors to offer yoga classes at our Wilson and Devon health centers. Each class is open to all patients and staff, and will include modifications for all ability levels.

Dates: Mondays 5:15-6:15 pm starting June 5 at 845 W. Wilson

Diabetes Management

Participants will learn to better manage diabetes through healthy eating, exercise, regular blood sugar tracking, and stress management. Connect with other patients with diabetes so you can share ideas and learn from one another. This class will be offered in English and Spanish.
