Heartland Health Centers’ Certified Application Counselors are available to help individuals and families review their options and get covered during open enrollment for the Marketplace, from November 1 to December 15. Signing up during this open enrollment will give you coverage for 2020.  Note that open enrollment season is only six weeks long! 

We have been helping individuals and families get covered since the creation of the Affordable Care Act (technically, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare).  

The Health Insurance Marketplace is a way for individuals and families to get health insurance if they don’t qualify for other types of coverage such as Medicaid, employer-based coverage, Medicare, etc. Financial assistance (discounts) is available for those that qualify based on their household size and income. If you don’t qualify for the Marketplace, our Certified Application Counselors will see if you are eligible for any other type of health insurance or find access to health care services. 

It’s important to note that the financial assistance offered through the Marketplace is NOT included under the currently-blocked Public Charge regulation. Here is a list of immigration statuses that qualify for financial assistance through the Marketplace. 

Here’s our schedule for open enrollment in-person assistance from November 1 to December 15: 

Mondays & Wednesdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at HHC-Wilson, 845 W. Wilson Ave.

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at HHC-Devon, 1300 W. Devon Ave. 

Fridays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at HHC-Albany Park, 3737 W. Lawrence Ave.

Limited evening & weekend hours available by request only

Our team offers help in English, Spanish, Hindi, Gujurati, Urdu, and Arabic. Interpretation is always available for other languages as well. Our services are confidential and if you decide that the plans don’t fit your needs, we will respect the decision you make.
