Dr. Mayefsky is a pediatrician who is board certified in General and Emergency Pediatrics. He graduated from Northwestern University Medical School and completed a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Subsequently, he was a Robert Wood Johnson Fellow in Academic General Pediatrics at the University of Rochester, where he also earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Prior to joining Heartland Health Centers, Dr. Mayefsky practiced at Stroger (Cook County) Hospital for many years. He is currently a Professor of Pediatrics and Family and Preventive Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, and is a member of the faculties of UIC School of Nursing, Rush Medical College, and Malcolm X City College. Dr. Mayefsky is the author of several scholarly articles and medical textbook chapters. His professional interests are serving the underserved and preventive medicine.
Dr. Mayefsky is fluent in Spanish, and Hebrew.
