Omicron variant

We know the Omicron variant of COVID-19 spreads more easily than the original SARS-CoV-2 virus. Current vaccines remain the best public health measure to protect people from COVID-19, slow transmission, and reduce the likelihood of new variants emerging.

Now is the time to get your booster if you are due (6 months since your second vaccine)!

Booster Shots

Everyone age 18 and older should get a booster shot, according to the CDC.

Boosters are an additional dose of a vaccine given after the protection provided by the original shots has begun to decrease over time. Typically, you would get a booster after the immunity from the initial doses naturally starts to wane. The booster is designed to help people maintain their level of immunity for longer.

We are giving Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech boosters. Patients who got a J&J vaccine can receive any of the COVID-19 vaccines authorized in the United States.

 

Vaccines for 5-11 Years

Heartland Health Centers is now making appointments for children to receive the new Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for 5- to 11-year-olds as recommended by the CDC.

 

COVID-19 Tests

Need a COVID-19 test? Please call 773-751-7800 to schedule a drive-thru or walk-up PCR test at HHC-Devon. At the test we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment to review your results– typically 2-3 days after testing.

Insurance covers testing costs, but you may need to change your primary care provider to Heartland Health Centers. If you do not have insurance, your test will be free, regardless of immigration status.

 

To schedule your booster, children’s vaccination, or first dose of vaccine, please call the appointment line at 773-751-7800 For boosters, please have the date of your second dose and vaccine type available when you call if you can.
