Vaccination for ages 6 months to 4

Vaccines for children age 6 months to 4 are now available. We’re giving Pfizer vaccines in a 3-dose series. We’ll give the first 2 doses 3 weeks apart, and the third dose 8 weeks after that.

Vaccines are available at all our clinics. We are also making appointments now for Saturday clinics in July at HHC-Devon to get lots of shots in arms!

Omicron variant

We know the Omicron variant of COVID-19 spreads more easily than the original SARS-CoV-2 virus. Current vaccines remain the best public health measure to protect people from COVID-19, slow transmission, and reduce the likelihood of new variants emerging.

Now is the time to get your booster if you are due (6 months since your second vaccine)!

The CDC is sharing the latest information online here.

Booster Shots

Everyone age 18 and older should get a booster shot, according to the CDC.

Boosters are an additional dose of a vaccine given after the protection provided by the original shots has begun to decrease over time. Typically, you would get a booster after the immunity from the initial doses naturally starts to wane. The booster is designed to help people maintain their level of immunity for longer.

We are giving Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech boosters. Patients who got a J&J vaccine can receive any of the COVID-19 vaccines authorized in the United States.

Vaccines for 5-11 Years

Heartland Health Centers is now making appointments for children to receive the new Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for 5- to 11-year-olds as recommended by the CDC.

COVID-19 Tests

Need a COVID-19 test? Please call 773-751-7800 to schedule a PCR test. At the test we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment to review your results– typically 2-3 days after testing.

Insurance covers testing costs, but you may need to change your primary care provider to Heartland Health Centers. If you do not have insurance, your test will be free, regardless of immigration status.
