    This class will incorporate therapies for chronic pain including tai chi and acupuncture. Stand-alone acupuncture is also available every Monday at 3:30 pm. Acupuncture will be provided by students from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.

    When: Mondays 12:30-3:00 pm for the group and 3:30-5:00 pm for drop-in acupuncture

It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Tai chi is often used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.

    Mindfulness is a particular kind of paying attention.  We call it awareness in a non-judging way. Mindfulness based programs have been proven to be a great addition to medications  for dozens of medical conditions, both those that are defined as physical (like high blood pressure or ulcerative colitis or cancer) and those that are defined as mental (like anxiety and depression).
