The Community Open House on Saturday, May 21 at our 845 W. Wilson site was, by all accounts, a roaring success! Attended by almost 250 people, the event offered a variety of wellness and fun activities for all ages – from blood pressure checks, nutrition consults, Zumba and yoga to face painting, hula hooping, jump roping, pee wee basketball and the always popular Bounce House.
Peterson Garden Project was there with a seed planting activity, and even a clown appeared to make balloon animals for a constant throng of excited kids. Everybody’s Coffee provided free samples of their great brew, and Obamacare enrollments and voter registration were offered. The most popular activity may have been Story Corner with a reading of “Stella Luna” by 9 year old Molly, along with a children’s book giveaway. But the beautiful Tooth Fairy who gave out toothbrushes to the kids, was a big hit, too!!
It may go without saying that a variety of dishes provided by many local restaurants was enjoyed by all, as was DJ Corey Ransom who brought in a great mix of sound. This event was held in part to highlight the new global look of 845 W. Wilson, in honor of the vast diversity of the community and our patients, and to showcase our new much needed dental services. Guests were toured through the facility to see some stunning photographs of people from around the world and had the opportunity to place a pin on their country of origin on a very large world map in the reception area.
